Prison Island Private Tour
A half-hour boat trip from Zanzibar, Prison Island provides a fascinating glimpse into the island’s slightly dark past – this land was once used as a place where slaves were detained and, when slavery was abolished, it functioned as a camp where people with deadly diseases were sent. Eat at Forodhani market
Commonly know as the Sultan’s Palace, The Palace Museum is perhaps the most historic building in Stone Town and is a must-see for any tourist. The Palace Museum is located in the waterfront, overlooking the ocean, and was built in the 19th century as a home for the Sultan and his family. After the 1964 revolution the site was used as a Government building and was renamed as The People’s Palace. Today it serves as a museum that showcases relics of the past Sultan family.

Head to Jozani Forest
A vast and scenic spread of green, Jozani is the last indigenous forest left on Zanzbar. Located inland from Jozani Chwaka Bay the area often floods, which luckily nurtures a unique swamp forest of many amazing looking trees and ferns. The forest is best reached via bus (309 or 310), by chartered taxi, or as part of an organized tour.
The tour can take 3 to 4 hours, the forest holds one among the rera and endemic spice of Red Colobus monkey, that can only been seen here in the forest.

House of Wonders (Beit-el-Ajaib)
House of Wonders, which is home to the Museum of History and Culture, is not only the largest—but also the tallest building in Stone Town. Built in 1883, the palace was the first building on the island to have electricity and the first in the region to have a working elevator. Since the early 2000s, House of Wonders has showcased a permanent collection of artifacts related to Swahili and Zanzibar culture.
The House of Wonders is a hugely important and visually stunning historic building in Stone Town. It hosts a highly interesting exhibition and offers a brilliant insight into Zanzibar and Swahili culture. The House of Wonders is the grandest and tallest building in all of Stone Town and is found in a prominent location in front of the Forodhani Gardens on the old town’s seafront, in Mizingani Road
Travelers can explore the grounds, which include a traditional Swahili boat, old-world fishing tools and famous ships, or wander the halls that offer an up close look at traditional garments, historic portraits of royalty and ancient furniture taken from former sultans’ homes. A visit to House of Wonders provides travelers with a window into the local culture and the island’s rich history.

Spice Tour
Spices and herbs were originally introduced to Zanzibar by Portuguese traders in the 16th century, brought from their colonies in South America and India.
This tour is a walking tour in a spice farm (shamba). While there, you shall see how the spices, herbs and fruits grow and are cultivated. Your tour guide will describe how the crops can be used.
You will be smelling and tasting spices, herbs and tropical fruits such as clove, lemongrass, nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric, vanilla, coconuts, papaya, chili, black pepper, jackfruit, cardamom, cassava and oranges. After the tour you will enjoy a traditional swahili lunch at the farm. Here is when you can really taste the different ways of using spices.
The tour finishes with a stop at a spice stall selling fresh packaged spices (cash only). The tour price already includes tips for farm workers, so you don’t need to worry about it.

Ngome Kongwe Tour
The Old Fort of Stone Town on the island of Zanzibar was one of the few great colonial era forts that was not constructed by a European power. It was built in the 17th Century by the Omani’s, on the site of a Portuguese Chapel. The oldest building in Zanzibar was meant to shiled the Arabs from the Portuguese and also served as a prison and execution point.

The Rock restaurant offers some stunning views of the island, as it is located on a rock with a view over all the city’s main sights. Visitors don’t only come for the view though – fine dining also awaits with some of the best seafood Zanzibar has to offer. The Old Fort is one of Zanzibar’s most popular attractions. The Fort is part of the Stone Town UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Inside the Old Fort, an open-air theatre hosts music and dances performances. The Fort houses the Zanzibar Cultural Centre and the offices of the Zanzibar Internatonal Film Festival (ZIFF). Old Fort also hosts major events such as the Festival of dhow countires and Sauti Za Busara Festival.
There are many shops and a restaurant inside and at night there are often Taarab, Ngoma (local styles of music and dance) or movie nights.
Visit the Old Fort of Zanzibar and study the history of Zanzibar. Its courtyard has over the years been used to sell curios and handi crafts such as the infamous tingatinga paintings.

Nungwi Beach
Nungwi is a village boasting a few of Zanzibar’s most breathtaking beaches. On this tour you will see picture worthy shores where local woodworkers build wooden dhows, as they have for centuries. Nearby, you will visit the Mnarani Natural Aquarium and feed sea turtles. After this, the rest of the day you are free to enjoy the beach. If you wish, a visit to the Portuguese Ruins can be included in your tour.

Safari Blue – Full Day Tour .
This tour allows you to view the intriguing natural environment of the Indian Ocean Bay. You will leave Fumba by dhow, the Kwale Coral Reef is the first stop. Kwale offers a gracious view of coral and colorful fish. Your guide will point out specific marine life and instruct you in snorkeling. The trip then continues to a sandbank to snack, while taking in the view of ocean water. Humpback whales may be spotted feasting on marine life at the ocean’s surface.
The boat will then take you to an island where a feast of grilled fish, chicken, calamari and lobster will be served with cold soft drinks and beer. Afterwards a tropical fruit tasting of 10-15 varieties will take place, followed by a shot of African Amarula liquor in coffee. You may take part in the islands other activities, before traveling back to Fumba.

Village Life Excursion – Full Day Tour
This tour lets you see the traditional fishing and farming life, you begin with a visit to a spice plantation. You will see how the crops are farmed, and taste fruits and spiced teas. Then, after a visit to the Kidichi Persian Baths you will continue on to Mchangani, a village untouched by time.
You will see how women obtain well water and paint with henna. A villager will teach you how coconut product is essential to the locals like it fruit (Madafu) one of the local drink, Basket, Rope, Poles and coconut palm caps, the fun and interest part is when having tourist trying to climb a coconut tree with the local.
A local blacksmith will explain making handmade nails, before we eat lunch in Nungwi around 1:30p.m. The restaurant sits on a flawless beach and guests are welcome to enter the water. Before returning home, a visit to the Mnarani Natural Aquarium will finish the trip.

Sunset Cruise & Dinner
This island is situated 8 miles southwest of Zanzibar Town. It is an uninhabited island dominated by coral rag forest and bordered on its western shore, by a fringing coral reef of exceptional biodiversity and beauty. Based on the initiative of Chumbe Island Coral Park, a private company created for the management of Chumbe, the island was gazette in 1994 as a protected area by the Government of Zanzibar.
It covers 16 hectors of undisturbed forest and surrounded by a virgin coral reef, which can be reached in about 45 minutes by boat. The sanctuary has more than 200 a pieces of pristine stone corals, about 400 species of fish and turtles & dolphin regularly passing by. A fixed number of people are allowed to go there, which is not more than 14 persons for a day trip and for accommodation is 13 when it’s full. You will do a guided walking in the small forest, snorkel, swimming or just relax.
The main attraction is swimming with the Dolphins. Being very social themselves, if you are luck you even get to play with them. Situated on the southern point of the island, Kizimkazi fishing village is home to several schools of bottle-nosed dolphins and Humpback dolphins, which are sighted following a short boat trip from the village.
We advise clients to wear their swimming attire. We also advise to wear waterproof sandals for boarding the dhows and to bring sunscreen, towel and spare T -shirt for snorkeling.
